The Really Small Bad Day Almanac: April 14

1865: U.S. President Abraham Lincoln is shot while attending a performance at Ford's Theatre in Washington, D.C. He will die the following morning, 1912: Moments before midnight, R.M.S. Titanic  hits an iceberg in the North Atlantic during its maiden voyage. from England to New York. It will sink shortly after 2 a.m. More than 1,500 of its 2,224 passengers die in the incident.
