Heat Advisory Begins at Noon

A regional heat advisory will be in effect from noon to 7 p.m. today. Highs are expected to reach 87 along the coast but into the 90s inland, where humidity will cause a heat index of between 100 and 104, high enough to cause heat stress, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). The NWS recommends drinking plenty of water, restricting outdoor activity, and dressing in light and light-colored clothing.
