Five Years After Sandy: Ralph Prevails

The little figure at the far end of the beam is Ralph the Ocean Grove Fisherman. He appeared days after storm surge from Superstorm Sandy took down the far end of the Ocean Grove fishing pier on Oct. 28, 2012. He remains as the symbol of the community's determination to bounce back from a natural disaster that destroyed homes and businesses throughout the Jersey Shore, and that kept the area without power for a week.
