In Spring Lake, a Public Hearing About New Trucks

The Spring Lake Borough Council on Tuesday, Feb. 14, will hold a public hearing on the ordinance to fund the purchase of two new municipal vehicles.

The hearing will be part of the council's regularly scheduled meeting, which starts at 7 p.m. in borough hall, 423 Warren Ave.

The borough is eyeing a new sanitation truck and fire truck. The ordinance allows the borough to appropriate a total of $760,000 for both vehicles: $284, 800 for the sanitation truck, and $475,200 for the fire truck, which is fully equipped.

If the ordinance is adopted, the borough will issue $720,000 of the total purchase in bonds and notes--$270,000 for the sanitation truck, and $450,000 for the fire truck.

The council introduced and passed the ordinance on its first reading on Jan.  24.
