With the Fourth of July falling on Tuesday this year, the Fourth of
July weekend is going to feel more like the Fourth of July week as
people take off as early as Friday, June 30.
Municipal offices throughout the state will be closed, and town halls closed on holidays usually signify no regularly scheduled trash pickup. Some municipalities schedule pickups for the following day; others simply pick it up on the next regularly scheduled day.
In Neptune Township, trash in zones A and B will be picked up on Wednesday, July 5, instead of on Monday or Tuesday.
In Ocean Grove, Neptune's historic district, there will be no makeup collection. Trash will not be picked up on Monday, but only on the next regular pickup day, which is Thursday.
Recycling will be picked up on Wednesday, July 5. If you can't wait, the recycling yard will be open on Monday, July 3, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Please bring proof of residency in the township.
In Spring Lake, where the borough offices are closed on Tuesday, Tuesday's trash collection will be moved to Wednesday.
In Manasquan, trash in District 3, east of the creeks and all of Ocean Avenue, will be picked up on Monday, July 3 instead of on Tuesday.
