Bradley Beach canceled the fireworks display originally scheduled for July 3. The borough's office of emergency management in a statement cited what it called "public safety concerns surrounding COVID-19."
As of June 17, there were 10 new cases of the novel coronavirus in Monmouth County, bringing the total of recorded cases in the county to 8,915, according to a statement from the Monmouth County Freeholders.
Of that total, 56 cases have been recorded in Bradley Beach, 296 in Asbury Park, and 595 in Neptune Township, which includes the Ocean Grove historic district.
The county's death toll from the virus is 688, according to the state's COVID-19 Information Hub.
