Sidewalks Are No-Bike Zones

"No Bikes" sign stenciled on Lake Avenue sidewalk in Asbury Park reminds bicyclists to ride in the street, were state and city laws require them to follow the same traffic laws for motor vehicles. Chapter 3, section 38, paragraph i of the city's police regulations states, "No person shall ride a bicycle on a sidewalk." Only toy bicycles and children's tricycles are allowed on the sidewalk.
