Erie Zoo is seeking donations of DVDs to keep its primates entertained and mentally on point while the the zoo is closed to the public this winter.
"These movies are enriching exercises for their brains to keep them entertained while the visitors are away," the zoo said in the appeal posted on its Facebook page.
Among the beneficiaries are orangutans, spider monkeys and golden lion tamarins.
The DVDs may be brought to zoo offices at 423 W 38th Street, Monday through Friday, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Only movies rated G will be accepted.
The zoo closed for the winter on November 30 and will reopen to the public on March 1.
