High Wind Warning For Friday, Early Saturday

Now is the time to stock up on batteries, and to bring in or secure outdoor items that can blow away or cause damage on impact. The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a high wind warning for between 11 a.m. Friday, March 2, through 6 a.m. Saturday, March 3.

A nor'easter is expected to bring heavy rain and a potential for some snow to the region starting late tonight. Winds will be northwest, between 20 mph and 30 mph, with gusts up to 60 mph.

Strong winds can blow down trees, tree limbs, and power lines, while sustained wind speeds of at least 40 mph or gusts of 58 mph or more can result in property damage, according to the NWS.
