Nor'easter Prompts Flood, High Wind Watches

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued flood and high wind watches in advance of a nor'easter expected to lash the region late tonight and into Saturday.

The flood watch will be in effect from 1 a.m. Friday, March 2, until 6 a.m. Saturday, March 3.

The coastal flood watch is for 5 a.m. Friday until 2 a.m. Sunday, March 4.

The high wind watch will run between 7 a.m. Friday, March 2, to 6 a.m. Saturday, March 3.

Rainfall could reach three-quarters of an inch before a changeover to snow, the NWS said in a Thursday morning advisory. Snow accumulation could reach or exceed half an inch.

Winds are expected to be northwest, between 25 and 35 mph, with gusts of up to 65 mph.
