SEEN: Left Behind

A block of snow loiters on Delaware Avenue north of Embury Avenue in Ocean Grove. Neptune Township's public works crews worked through the night to clear the streets and were still active when this picture was taken shortly before sunrise Thursday, March 22. The nor'easter --also called Winter Storm Toby--dumped between 6 and 9 inches of snow on the township's coastal historic district, most of it overnight as the storm intensified and dropped more than an inch-per-hour of snow. The township has been contacted for help in removing the snowy boulder, which might take care of matters on its own by  melting when the sun comes out and temperatures reach the 40s.
