The first day of spring usually brings the promise of blooms in the garden and birds in the bush. This year it promises a meteorological punch in the face. Yet another coast-hugging nor'easter--the fourth in a month--could dump up to 14 inches of snow on the region by the time it blows out on Wednesday evening. The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a winter storm warning for 6 this evening until 2 a.m. Thursday.
The storm is a two-parter, starting tonight with rain and sleet and then changing to all snow after 11 a.m. Wednesday, the NWS said.
Daytime highs will be around 38 today and 36 Wednesday; lows will be around 32 tonight and 31 Wednesday night.
Winds can gust as high as 40 mph today and tonight, and 44 mph tomorrow, the NWS said.
A coastal flood advisory will be in effect from 9 a.m. Wednesday until 5 a.m. Thursday.
