Applications are being accepted for Marine Science Day Camp in Spring Lake this August. The camp will be held at Marucci Park and is scheduled for four sessions:
1. Monday, Aug. 7 through Friday, Aug. 11
2. Monday, Aug. 14 through Friday, Aug. 19
3. Monday, Aug. 21 through Friday, Aug. 25
4. Monday, Aug. 28 through Friday, Sept. 1
Hours are 9 a.m. to noon for all four sessions.
The camp, to be taught by marine biologists and environmentalists, will focus on the preservation of the marine ecosystem. The curriculum includes seining, sharks, whales, oceans, plate tectonics, and continental drift.
There will also be seining, and marine mammal rescue drills. Crab Critter Cams will give campers a glimpse of life under the water.
Tuition is $235 per child, and includes a T-shirt.
