Nearly $20K Raised for Ocean Grove Fire Victims

Donors have contributed nearly $20,000 to help people who lost their homes and possessions in the blaze that ripped through Ocean Grove before dawn on Friday, March 3.

Three homes and a condominium were destroyed when a fire officials believe started in the vacant Warrington Hotel was spread by the wind. Several other homes were heavily damaged.

According to a tweet from Red Cross New Jersey (@NJRedCross), its volunteers provided compassionate care and emergency assistance for 23 people affected by the fire.

As of Friday evening, $19,698 had been raised for six separate fundraising campaigns on Go Fund Me.

Help Support Caitlin and Julian had $7,861, more than double the goal of $3,000.

Help Support Cynthia and John also surpassed its goal, with $5,895 topping the original target of $5,000.

Ocean Grove Fire - Stacey and Rebecca recorded $1,767 of a proposed $5,000.

Supporting Wendy Smith had $1,815 of a proposed $2,500.

Valerie and Dylan Starting Over showed $1,675 of a projected $20,000.

Help Out Natalie! had $685 of $10,000.
