The swimming advisories for the Brown Avenue South and York Avenue beaches in Spring Lake have been lifted, according to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection. All local beaches are open.
The beaches were placed under advisories when water samples showed above-standard levels of Enterococci bacteria. Enterococci are found in human and animal waste and could have entered the ocean by way of storm water run-off after recent storms, officials said.
