Military veterans will have free access to the Manasquan beach as of Tuesday, June 6. The mayor and council expect to pass a resolution confirming the access during its regular meeting this Monday, June 5.
"The residents of the borough of Manasquan want our veterans to know that they are in our hearts and minds and that we support them and are extremely grateful for the sacrifices they have made," officials say in the resolution, which can be seen online at the borough's website, manasquan-nj.com.
Veterans must show a DD Form 214 issued by the federal government, or other valid identification that shows their status as a veteran.
The borough already gives active service members and their families free admission to the beach.
The council meeting will take place at 7 p.m. Monday at borough hall, 201 East Main Street.
