Township To Introduce Bond Ordinances Totaling $4.8M

The Neptune Township Committee on June 12 will introduce ordinances appropriating a total of $4,850,000 for projects that include roadwork, a new roof for the municipal complex, improvements to the Fletcher Lake bulkhead, and work on the 11th Avenue sanitary sewer system.

The ordinances also authorize $4,067,500 of that amount to be issued in bonds or notes to fund the projects.

Ordinance 17-19 appropriates $1,800,000 for installations and upgrades to the 11th Avenue-area sanitary sewer system, with $1,170,000 issued in bonds or notes.

Ordinance 17-20 appropriates $500,000 for improvements to the Fletcher Lake bulkhead, bridge and roadway, with $475,000 issued in bonds or notes.

Ordinance 17-21 provides for $1,000,000 in road improvements, with $950,000 issued in bonds or notes.

Ordinance 17-22 provides for $750,000 to acquire property within the West Lake Avenue Redevelopment Area, with $712,500 issued in bonds or notes.

Ordinance 17-23 appropriates $800,000 to replace the roof of the municipal complex, and for other facility improvements, and authorizes $760,000 in bonds or notes to be issued.

The public hearing on the ordinances will be held on Monday, June 26, at 7 p.m. at the municipal complex, 25 Neptune Blvd.
