SCENE: Ocean Grove's Giant Spring Flea Market Underway

Ocean Grove's Giant Spring Flea Market continues until 4 this afternoon with 340 vendors stretched along Ocean Pathway between the Great Auditorium and Ocean Avenue. This was the scene earlier this afternoon, after morning rain gave way to brilliant sunshine. The  event, sponsored by the Ocean Grove Chamber of Commerce, usually draws a crowd of about 10,000, said organizers, who expected the number could go that high in the improved weather. With rain predicted to coincide with today's early morning set-up and 9 a.m. opening, some people arrived extra early, checking into local hotels yesterday, said Chamber president Laura Massaro, who owns the Laingdon Hotel on Ocean Avenue.
