The flags at Ocean Grove's Main Avenue beach remained at half-staff Tuesday, the only spot of color in the dismal, drizzly hours before dawn. New Jersey Governor Chris Christie had ordered flags throughout the state to be lowered Monday in respect for Summit police officer Mathew Tarentino, who was killed last week in a car crash on Interstate 78. Tarentino's funeral was Monday. The flag was later raised to full-staff by an employee of the Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association.
