Painting, marine science camp, and tennis are among activities for children in Manasquan this summer. The borough also offers a separate summer recreation program for children, and yoga, surfing, and ukulele lessons for youngsters and adults. The borough recommends registering early, as programs tend to fill up quickly.
--The summer recreation program for children entering Kindergarten through fifth grade will be held at Manasquan Elementary School Wednesday, June 28, through Friday, July 28, with a break on July 3 and 4 for the Fourth of July holiday.
--Surfing lessons by Inlet Outlet and the borough recreation department will run for five weekends at Inlet Beach, starting July 1. Sessions are at 9 a.m. or 3 p.m. Surfboards will be provided. The lessons are open to adults as well as children.
--"Paint, Paste and Pour" art classes for children ages 18 months through Kindergarten will run at St. Denis School on Wednesdays, July 21 and July 28, and Aug. 4 and Aug. 11. Class times are 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., 10:45 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., and 4:30 p.m. to 5:15 p.m.
--Silton Swim School offers swimming lessons at a discounted price for borough youngsters ages 3 to 12. The lessons will run July 31 to Aug. 4, Aug. 7 to Aug. 11, and Aug. 14 to Aug. 18.
--Tennis lessons for children, teens, and adults will be held at Manasquan High School starting Monday, June 26. Lessons for children 6 through 12 will run Monday through Friday, 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., and 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Lessons for ages 13 and up will run Monday through Friday, 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
--Starting June 14, Manasquan resident and certified yoga instructor Thomas Manni will teach yoga on the Sea Watch beach Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday mornings, 7:30 to 8:30. The program ends Sept. 4.
--Kids age 8 and older can learn yoga with Maura Bradley and the Bee You Yoga Studio on Sea Watch beach every Friday for 10 weeks, June 30 to Sept 1. Classes will run from 8:30 to 9:30.
--Kids in Kindergarten through eighth grade can learn about marine life and environment at Marine Science Camp at Stockton Lake Park. The New Logic educational program will run six one-week sessions from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily. See the website for details.

--Everyone, age 8 and up, can learn to play the ukulele at Manasquan Music and Dance Academy's ukulele camp on the Riddle Way beach. The hour-long sessions will be held at 6 p.m. Thursdays, July 6, 13, and 20, and Aug. 3, 10, and 17.
