The Monmouth County Environmental Commission needs volunteers this Saturday, June 10, for a dune planting at Bayshore Waterfront Park in the Port Monmouth section of Middletown. The event will start at 9:30 a.m.
Dune plants like beach plum and northern bayberry will be planted to supplement existing dune grass, the commission said. The plants were purchased with a $1,500 Open Space Stewardship Grant from the Association of New Jersey Environmental Councils.
